Ishaan Khatter, Mrunal Thakur And Priyanshu Painyuli Starrer War Film Pippa To Go On Floors In September- EXCLUSIVE
Last August, producers Siddharth Roy Kapoor and Ronnie Screwvala had joined hands and announced a film set in the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pakistani war, titled Pippa. The film is helmed by Raja Krishna Menon and is to feature Ishaan Khatter in the lead. Later on, it was announced that Mrunal Thakur and Priyanshu Painyuli had joined Ishaan in the lead cast of the film and the trio would be playing siblings on screen.

Now, Mrunal has informed Spotboye.com exclusively about when the film is going on floors. The actors were to start work on the film in March this year and take it to the floors in April. “But then the film got pushed due to the second wave of Covid. Although now, we are all set to take it on floors in September,” she shares.

Pippa will be an action-packed war film with a celebrated army tank at its centre and will see Ishaan portray the part of war veteran, Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta of the 45th Cavalry Tank Squadron, who, along with his siblings, fought on the eastern front during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The film is based on the book, The Burning Chaffees, written by Brigadier Mehta himself.

Meanwhile, Mrunal will be seen opposite Farhan Akhtar in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Toofaan that releases tomorrow on Amazon Prime Video. After that, she has Jersey opposite Ishaan’s brother Shahid Kapoor and Umesh Shukla’s family comedy Aankh Micholi with Abhimanyu Dassani. Ishaan has Phone Bhoot with Katrina Kaif and Siddhanth Chaturvedi for which he has completed shoot already, apart from Pippa. As for Priyanshu, he will be seen opposite Taapsee Pannu in Rashmi Rocket as an army officer.
